The System (2020-21)
Between 2020 and 2023 I worked as an editor for Global Filmz in Florida. I still work for them but during that time, I was "on location" close to their office. Most of what you see here from that period is work I did for them. One of the main things I did,and what I was initially hired for, was the reality show THE SYSTEM. Really a great concept. A bunch of kids from various more or less "troubled" backgrounds got together in a house, where they, besides getting into the usual trouble teenagers get into, also learned to channel their thirst for social justice in the right ways. They would help get people out of jail and head to one protest after another, or counter-protest, when various right-wing groups were out to make noise. This all just happened to be during Donald Trump's first term as president, so there were plenty of rally's, protests and events connected both to politics but also to other things. Editing the show taught me quite a few things too. Regrettably, the show never went far, as production fell apart shortly after the second season started. But we did manage to make some episodes and below you can see a few of them.
My Fitness RX (2019-2023)
The absolutely wonderful Tanya Stroh, who already had a show going on a local TV channel in Pennsylvania and New Jersey, hired me to help her with this. I was an occasional cameraman but also edited many of her segments for her "MY FITNESS RX" show. It was around the same time I was working in Florida, so couldn't be there for as many of her segments as I would have liked, but we did get to do a few and below are some of them. We got to learn about beekeeping, surfing and pottery, among other things.
Music Videos (2020-2023)
Through Global Filmz, I also got to edit a few music videos. This was totally new for me, and honestly not something I ever thought I'd be doing. But I found a lot of fun in it, and learned a lot from trying this different pace. Have a look at some of them here.
NJ WEEDMAN
Another reality show for Global Filmz that unfortunately didn't take off was NJ WEEDMAN. A bit of a local celebrity in New Jersey, where he had his weed shop, this was the story of him opening another location in Florida, his constant trouble with the law and his various shenanigans with friends and family. Part of why the show fell apart was because there was a falling out with someone in the show, who had not signed a release form, and so this prevented much of the show from being broadcast, as this would have been a legal issue. But up until that happened, I had a lot of fun editing this show.
Commercials, Ads & Industrials
And here is a collection of "other" projects I edited, both for Global Filmz and for others, over a period of several years. These were used for various things and gave me a chance to play with different paces and more graphics than I was used to at the time.
