After 16 years in the United States, I realized that I had written, what I thought was going to be some blog posts, again and again and again, and I had a lot of pages of all this. It was mostly because I had various opinions, I wanted to write down, but also because after so many years in the U.S. all those first impressions, weird thoughts and observations were starting to slip, and I couldn't remember as well, how it all was when I first got here. So, I took all that, brainstormed myself again, and wrote down as much as I could about how it all was, when I first got here, as well as the many things I had wondered about, laughed about and rolled my eyes about over the years. The result: This book!

I am not a "writer", in the sense that this is my livelihood. I don't care about who I please, don't please and what the "market" is for this book. Of course, I wanted people to read it and give me their thoughts, but more than that, I really wanted it as a testament to my first years in the United States and something I could look back on and laugh about and "Oh yeah" about later in life. 

  Little did I know that this would really ignite my passion for writing, and also show me that finally, after many years of WANTING and TRYING to write, starting one thing after another but never finishing, I was now able to actually complete a story, keep it somewhat coherent, and have enough to say to "keep it going". So, what started as some sort of fun pass time project, turned into a new passion, and obviously several more books have come out since, and more are on the way.
